KIDZ Club (submitted by Joanne Lorenzo, Director of The Magdalene Project).

✞ Every Tuesday I open the doors of our building for Kidz Club, where approximately 30-40 children enter to receive a meal, play games, and hear a message about Jesus. I am finding out that these two hours each week, are one of the most important times in my life, and the lives of children who would never go to church.

But it was one particular child in whom I saw the change. This little man is a born leader, he strutted into our Kidz Club like he owned the place when he was eight years old, with followers at his heels. When he spoke the other children listened!

This past year when we had our last session of Kidz Club before the summer I asked, “what lesson affected you most this past year?” This young man raised his hand and said, “The lesson about how what you do today, will affect the rest of your life.” That was it! He remembered, and applied the lesson to his life. Coming from a home with no mother, and a father who had a minimum wage job, living in the hood, this little boy showed me that he was listening! I saw the change in him gradually. He had accepted Christ along with the rest of the children, however there was something different about him.

This young man still comes to our Kidz Club. He is still growing in the Lord! I am seeing that the scripture found in Isaiah 55:11 is being lived out in him. This verse states, “So is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent.✞
